FAMILY

I finally got around to finishing this project. I took a piece of junk of board that is used to attach fabric samples on and first of all applied gesso to it so I caould get a sort of blank canvas. Then I applied a piece of solid cardstock. Next, I used pieces of cut-out patterns from some pattern paper and pieced them all around to frame this picture of my youngest daughter. I also used skittles or dewdrops in the center of the flowers. I added a big flower and made a makeshift stand for the back of the frame so it can sit upright. All the materials were things I had on hand.

My take of the Scrapbook Expo- DuluthGA

About a week ago, my scrapping buddies and I attended the annual Scrapbook Expo in Duluth, GA. What a great time we had. We arrived there on Friday and headed straight for the convention center. The vendors were everywhere. I was very meticulous in searching for what I wanted. I even had a list. I got several of the things I wanted and then some. So my buddies and I agreed to make something right away with some of the goodies we purchased. You know how those tools can get pushed into a draw and never see the light of day again, right? So we fixed that problem. We set a day, Sunday a week, and we will gather together and show off our projects and what we had acquired. Another exciting thing happened at the expo. I got to meet several ladies from the Cricut Messageboard. I will include a pic of us. Here's my take of the scrapbook expo goodie "I got". It is a layout featuring none other than Gramma's Sweetheat. The black border at the top was done using my new Tonic border punch. The pink felt border was also purchased at the expo. The stamp in the bottom left-hand corner is a Heidi Swapp clear corner stamp(these were a dollar). This vendor had some awesome deals. The retro glasses and font is from SCAL. In the group picture, that's me second from the left. Thanks for looking.

Got Milk?

What an overused expression. Right? But this template from Lauren Meader will never fall into that category. This is one of her newest "Timeless Templates" found over at PaperTreyInk's site.
Oh the possibilities are endless. You can check out her blog to see her samples.

All Boxed up

All my scrapping buddies know me to be crazy about boxes. I love all kinds of boxes. So I created this box using Dawn's instructions. It used two 12x12 sheets of cardstock. It will make a lovely container for gift-giving. Try one.I also used the Bigz Topnote Die, the positive and negative portions for the top of the box. I used the Sissix leaf diecut and the To and From diecut as well. Let me know what you think. Oh, the DP is from American Crafts. I got that awhile back from Tuesday Morning.
